I've been contemplating a change in map list on DXMS server whilst icho is away, because the map list rotation seems to be busted. This is perhaps a section for Icho or Roi to read...
My proposal is to have a web page, accessable to certain members, through the forum board. This will be private, and will display the exact information that is displayed in each of the 3 FGS servers. The aim of this is to enable administrators on the 3 FGS servers to assess any problems in the deusex.ini, or view the server's current status.
Admins on the servers can access every command line in the deusex.ini, but cannot open it themselves unless they have FTP access to the actual deusex.ini directory, and therefore do not have an overview of the current server status.
By doing this, admins will be able to view game types, game rules, server information, along with a view of the current map list, and the cycle it will follow. The deusex.ini will also show the user of any server altering mods, because evidence of specific file editing will be visible.
All of this is available from simply showing all text in the deusex.ini, in correct order. There will be no need to install an editing client into the webpage, because admins will edit the information in-game through the console. This way, only admins can edit the deusex.ini, but can do so with much more care and efficiency

How do you know it will work? Has it been done before ? Is it a security risk ?

it should be easy enough, just set a protocol to create a copy of the original into php format, and post it up...
as long as the file is not the original, but shows the same data and is updated when the actual file is, then it will work without any security problems
Bearing in mine, this should only be available to people with special access, due to the information shown, I.E. admin password

A web based interface to a DX server console does exist. I have used one in the past.
