post copied straight from Hivemind thread as they have a server up, i miss the custom maps and nights of rifle fights last year on FGS 0-A
First beta of my new map. Ready to DL.
Basic 0-A gameplay elements are in place, ammocrates, medkits, weapons.
- Four large open areas connected via varying passages.
- Evening blue sky complete with a large moon and clouds.
- Ammocrates are near one end of each passageway.
- Medkits are suspended in mid air, one in each room, clearly illuminated under the yellow lights.
This map is designed to be a very minimal 0-A map with a dark atmosphere
and warm lighting - - hence the name DXMP_Meditation.
There's only one weapon which is set inside light boxes in the walls.
(this may change in future updates if minimal weapon choices are largely unpopular,
having said that - it would be a shame for this to happen because i like the idea of small fighting maps
with a single weapon such as sniper rifles or swords.)
tasks for beta 2:
- Expand fighting area to above ground with ladders and stairways leading up to it.
- Add gas nades and cabinets full of 0-a goodies.
- Possibly add full weapon racks if 16 minutes of Shuriken fighting fails to keep players on thier toes and in their dxing minds.
- improve spawns.
EDIT: will probably add sniper rifle in beta 2 anyway as default since it's the essential 0-A weapon!
