Let's talk about BINDS - Postby Vexus » 11 Aug 2012, 00:18

Post some helpful binds here.

Can be for anything - augs, 0 augs, atdm, btdm, dm, etc

like

ActivateBelt 9 | OnRelease ParseLeftClick
(medbind)

or

Aliases[18]=(Command="ActivateBelt 9|onrelease ParseLeftClick",Alias=Medbind)
(also a medbind)

Figured since dxalpha knowledgebase is gone for now, we can make our own little helpful posts here and there.

ToggleBehindView - Great for peeking around corners

TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft | TurnLeft

mutate mapvote - Don't be lazy. Bind this so you can be lazy.

mutate bark 1211 - Goddamn it!

ActivateAugmentation 2 | ActivateAugmentation 6 - EMP Shield + Spy Drone, can be used to disable LAMs thrown at you or to annoy auggers.

dropItem none true - Drop items at your feet instead of tossing them.

nothing much to talk about in my ini

imho complex binds that do tons of things in one second, medbinds, sniper binds, fov binds etc. Are abusive and lazy.

i have a toggle bind to display ping, net data and fps rate all in one.

i have 6 namebinds and a sniper bind, which isn't really the kind of snipe bind you would hear players talk about:
it just pulls sniper on first click and scopes /unscopes on every next click... firing is a manual left click.

i used to use a reconnect bind as a retarded noob but now i only use it to annoy the guy that copies my name, because he uses the same bind vs everybody to avoid dying, totally retarded hence why i stopped using it.

I have a ridiculous amount of binds. Not the infamous sniper bind though, because that does actually enable things that can't be done manually (firing the assault rifle before the animation for pulling it out is finished :/ hitting 3, E (scope) then firing seems more reliable anyway.) I'll make a big post on mine later today.

Edit: That's amazing Poor, I never thought of using spydrone to disable LAMs :O

I walk with WASD

Have scope on Q

Medbine on E
(E=activatebelt 9|onrelease activate belt 1)

I keep my assaultrifle at 1, so yeh.

So I guess medbind is the only one I have. Also, I pick up things with spacebar and jump with middle mouse button, crouch with right mouse button :-D

Damn, anax. How do you play augs then if you don't got any binds?

Masta, that's a strange set up you got there. xD

with Magic.

you don't need "binds" to play augs, binds are custom commands assigned to a key in the unser.ini :-D

"binding" augs is just reassigning the location of each aug on the keyboard, for example: my speed aug is assigned to Q (bindkey Q dualmapf7)

binds are custom .ini commands

aug "binds" are just keys set to switch on and off an aug.

Yeah I realize that, and it took a while for to get used to picking stuff up with space, but it works really well for me haha. No idea how I came up with it, must've been drunk.

i tried playing once with my parserightclick on keyboard rather than mouse, it was horrible.

i prefer being able to move at the same time as being able to click on stuff.

From DxAlpha KB:

Items

Grabbing your medkit or biocell:

ActivateBelt 9|onrelease ParseLeftClick

Uses a med then pulls out weapon in belt 2:

ActivateBelt 9|onrelease ParseLeftClick|ActivateBelt 2

Advanced medkit bind (may have problems in lag or bad ping) — bind was compiled by Clix:
1.First create Aliases[...] bind
Aliases[23]=(Command="ActivateBelt 9|onrelease ParseLeftClick",Alias=MedKit)
2.Then find a button to bind it to. For example, button H:
H=ParseRightClick|ParseRightClick|MedKit|OnRelease ActivateBelt 1

The following bind could be useful for a sniper rifle. After it's used, a sniper rifle with enabled scope pulls out. Adjust "3" in it to an inventory slot, which you usually use to keep a sniper rifle:

Activatebelt 3|Onrelease ToggleScope

Movement

Strafes diagonally (forward left):

Aliases[22]=(Command="Axis aBaseY Speed=+300.0|Axis aStrafe Speed=-300.0",Alias=ForwardLeft)

Strafes diagonally (forward right):

Aliases[22]=(Command="Axis aBaseY Speed=+300.0|Axis aStrafe Speed=+300.0",Alias=ForwardRight)

Circles left:

Aliases[22]=(Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=-180.0|Axis aBaseY Speed=+050.0",Alias=CircleLeft)

Circles right:

Aliases[22]=(Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=+180.0|Axis aBaseY Speed=+050.0",Alias=CircleRight)

Turns you around, so you can face behind you instantly:

Aliases[22]=(Command="Axis aBaseX Speed=+2900.0",Alias=TurnAround)

Augmentations

This bind enables Targetting/Ballistic Protection, then fires, and when you let go of the mouse button, it disables Targetting/Ballistic Protection. Great if you want to conserve bio:

LeftMouse=ActivateAugmentation 3|Fire|onrelease ActivateAugmentation 3

Just keeps on ADS as long as you hold down the key; useful in fights when low on bio or if you want to conserve bio:

Aliases[22]=(Command="ActivateAugmentation 6|onrelease ActivateAugmentation 6",Alias=ADS)

Med bind + regeneration — will withdraw a medkit and activate the Regeneration aug. This is useful when you are in serious trouble in a fight:

Aliases[22]=(Command="ActivateBelt 9|ActivateAugmentation 1")

Skills

Updates skills and equips the relevent belt item. 1 is Heavy Weapons, 2 is Pistols, 3 is Rifles, 4 is Melee, 5 is Grenades, 6 is Environment Resistance, 7 is Lockpicks, 8 is Multitools, 9 is Medicine, 0 is Hacking.

ActivateBelt 1|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 1|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 1
ActivateBelt 2|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 2|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 2
ActivateBelt 3|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 3|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 3
ActivateBelt 4|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 4|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 4
ActivateBelt 5|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 5|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 5
ActivateBelt 6|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 6|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 6
ActivateBelt 7|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 7|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 7
ActivateBelt 8|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 8|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 8
ActivateBelt 9|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 9|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 9
ActivateBelt 0|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 0|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 0

Statistics

This shows the score as long as you keep the scores button pressed:

ShowScores|onRelease ShowScores

This shows your netstats (ping, packetloss etc), and your current FPS (frame per second value):

stat net|stat fps

http://forums.ab-clan.com/index.php?/forum/14-advice/

^ is very helpful aswell.

My binds are kinda unorthodox in parts:

Code: Select all
MouseWheelDown=ActivateBelt 2
MouseWheelUp=ActivateBelt 3
Comma=admin servertravel DXMP_Silo?Game=ANNA101.ANNADeathmatch
X=ActivateAugmentation 5
V=ActivateAugmentation 0
t=Talk
R=ActivateAugmentation 1
Q=ActivateAugmentation 4
o=Sshot
N=togglebehindview   (I forgot I had this until I opened the ini just now)
M=activateaugumentation 5
L=name ~[A!B]þsýçhø~
k=KillerProfile
j=SwitchAmmo
H=ActivateBelt 7|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 7|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 7
G=ActivateBelt 8|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 8|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 8
F=ActivateAugmenation 2
E=ActivateAugmentation 3
PageUp=adminlogin **************
CapsLock=ActivateAugmentation 6
Enter=ParseLeftClick|Fire     (pointless having it, never use it)

RightMouse=ParseRightClick|ActivateBelt 9|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 9|BuySkills|ActivateBelt 9    (not recommended at all, a fucked up bind I'm used to)
LeftMouse=ParseLeftClick|Fire

My binds are all fucked up because I switched from arrows to wasd, due to not having a numpad on this laptop. For arrow users, I recommend registering on AB and having a look at Monkees binds.

I can't use any f keys because I have to press fn at the bottom of my laptop then the f keys, as my f keys are primarily used to open things like windows live mail. It's annoying because when I finish playing dx, I have liek 10 background apps on, which fucks my fps up even more. I use scroll to get my weapons due to my 1+2+3 key being close to windows live mail and media player keys. I need to set binds for aqualung and emp shield when I'm not lazy.

I know of a very good snipe bind, but I dont like it personally, and only used it for a day. I'll try and get permission for me to post the bind.

Oh and poor, you always spy drone your teammates which is super selfish.

Oh and COZMO, you used to have that sick dance bind yeh? I'll pay you 10 ugandan dollars to pm it to me, even tho thats like 1pence.

psycho i will stole now your .ini!

yeah i don't have numpad either. and wasd is overall in a better location for my left hand, otherwise it is uncomfortable trying to look at the screen with my arm twisted to face arrow keys.
