I got myself a new laptop yesterday and I (obviously) decided to install UrT on it. Everything worked fine, got some nice games, but then I decided to try to adjust the resolution. The problem now is that I selected too high a value for my laptop and now UrT doesn't even start (gives me this error:)



How do I fix it?

Put it back to your previous resolution by editing the .ini? Sniff
Or reinstall

Unfortunately that game is not installed on my PC at the moment, but I assume that first you should try to set the resolution to the original size manually. Look for .cfg's or .ini's.
If you can't find that, try to access resolution settings through Registry files.

Start>Run>Regedit>HKEY_Current_User>Software

Find UrT on that list, perhaps there will be a file which lets you configure aspect ratio and resolution.

I'd say come pay the ferrets a visit and talk to my clan leader, but I've just been informed his nets have ballsed up. Either wait a couple of days for him to come back, or trawl the internets (urbanterror.net would be a good start) for solutions mate.

posting from iphone no access to urt files, so:

look for q3config.cfg in q3ut4 folder
open with notepad
ctrl+f (find)
try to remember what resolution have you set, if 1280x1024, search "1280", if 1600x1200, look for "1600" etc.
When you find the right value, for example:
SomeThingX=1600
SomeThingY=1200

change them to 640x480 or 800x600

should work, too bad I don't remember the right line

Problem fixed.

Open q3config.cfg with a texteditor, look for 'r_mode=n' with 'n' being a value between 2 and 8 I think. Play with those values (mine is 6).

ha i have been having the same problem iv just been too lazy to do anything about it except i tried changing the resolution but it didn't work and now i can't find the file again to try what prophet said.
