S.T.A.L.K.E.R Multiplayer - Postby [FGS]Hawk » 22 Oct 2008, 15:46

Anyone who played it, yet?
I think its one of the best multiplayers which exist. Just the atmosphere of the game itself is great.

You can buy it in a store near your location, because you need a key to play it online :P

The story mode is great, tho.

there's a difference between cracks and keygens smarto

crack allows you to bypass the need for the game's cd
keygen generates a key to let you run the game or play multiplayer

if you get lucky, the keygen might generate a not used key, so it will let you to play multiplayer, or...
you can block the connection to auth server, and the game will accept any valid cd-key, even if it is already used by someone.

I have a legal copy of the first game Shadow of Chernobyl. The singleplayer part of it is awesome, great idea and everything. The multiplayer part of it is load of many metabolic end product though. Seems like it was made just because of the marketing. The multiplayer plays very choppy and the idea is just ridiculous. No wonder it has around the same amount of players as Deus Ex does.

And what comes to Clear Sky. I'm glad I downloaded it. It's pretty much Shadow of Chernobyl with a little different maps and improved graphics quality. The multiplayer of it is much better compared to the one is SoC.

Both of the games have a lot of flaws and some very good stuff. Lets take the combat system for SoC first. The enemies were surprisingly smart. They were always taking cover when you fired at them and camped like bitches. But they would always attack you when you were getting fucked up by them. The enemy AI was scripted there and this camping metabolic end product would always happen

The combat in Clear Sky was so much different. This time the enemy AI wasn't actually scripted. Enemies always worked really good together and the combat didn't get annoying, unless you count all those instant hit grenades they were using. What I still don't like about it, is that the enemy was just too easy to gun down.

you would get further in the game, you wouldWeapons. People seemed to be complaining a lot about the weapons in SoC, especially most people didn't like the sounds. In the very beginning of the game you would get all those in-accurate pistols, SMG, few AK's and a sawed-off shotgun. Sounds that the pistols used lacked balls amazingly. All the AK's used the same sound. SMG was just terrible. When you get further in the game, you can find some more powerful auto firing rifles and a couple of pistols. Still this metabolic end product kept bugging me because a lot of the weapons still used the same sounds. And without mentioning how bad weapon the sniper rifle was. The weapons overall weren't bad at all, but they seemed so un-finished.

In Clear Sky I was surprised with how *loving* dumb sounds they chose for all the weapons. I didn't bother much with that, because of the amazing upgrades you could do to them. And there were a lot of those. You could even repair your broken weapons or suit.

Faction war system felt pointless in Clear Sky because you could never take over the enemy's mainbase. The enemies would always respawn there after you went 200m away from it after killing everyonel there and your factions leader would message you that the enemy took over the *loving* area again. So damn metabolic end product...

This post is already too long so I'll continue complaining about the games later.

Off topic: In No One Lives Forever 2 the pistol without a silencer has the sound of the scout rifle from Counter Strike.
In War Rock the G36 has the same sound as the terrorist auto sniper from CS.
Very bad choices, but actually non of them influences the gameplay too much.

I just had to reply to this even though it's old;

If developers completely overhaul a game they get bitched at for ruining and putting the original to shame, if they leave alot the same and only make vital improvements they get bitched at for not changing enough. People are never satisfied. I enjoyed both games equally and I'm happy with the way Clear Sky turned out.

IMHO the SHOC MP was already great. The small changes really improved it, but kept the gameplay style :-)
