I feel in years to come people will look back at these times and think how could people get pleasure from inhaling smoke from a lighted stick, it seems archaic even now.

It's not a trend of the last 20,50,100 or even 200 years. So I don't agree with you.chin.democ. wrote:I feel in years to come people will look back at these times and think how could people get pleasure from inhaling smoke from a lighted stick, it seems archaic even now.
Raises a valid point though, why is nicotine legal weed not? Nicotine has alot more going against it when it comes to health issues imo.
I know the answer, it's because it would be impossible to outright ban it now. And I'd be completely against it. You can not and should not want to cast out an entire group of people simply because you think what they do seems "archaic". However when what they do poses a threat to the health of those around them (which it does) then apropriate action needs to be taken to ban it from public places (which there is, more and more) so I don't see much of a problem.

Makes you wonder how it started.chin.democ. wrote:I feel in years to come people will look back at these times and think how could people get pleasure from inhaling smoke from a lighted stick, it seems archaic even now.
I know that Honey collectors in the rainforests, smoke big fat ones to keep the bees away. I think smoking might have originally had another purpose and someone discovered accidentally inhaling further than the mouth had effects.

Re: Weed - A matter of discipline
It's been about 3 and a half weeks since i've smoked, and i'm EXTREMELY nocturnal again, like to the point its driving me insane.
There's goods and bads, but i think the bads outweigh the good for me atleast, not even refering to the memory loss which i have experienced tenfold, although it helps dramatically at getting my mind to sleep, i was waking up feeling spaced away and would be extremely short tempered and impatient the following day, i only smoked it at night before bed, every night for about 9 months solid, which is a big big mistake.
That being said i still dont want to stop smoking it, just as much, i use the gym now but more often than not it dont help with my sleeping.

Swimming is a good way to tire the body to get a nice natural sleep.

Reading a book or watching a really old black and white film.
Also if you drink caffeine of any sort that will keep you up, regardless.

When you are 18 years old and stoned for the first time Cheech and Chong are very funny...

I still remember when the beetle got stuck in the jar and ate all their marijuana. Somehow this is funny when you're stoned.
