We were think along the lines of new stuff.... Superrocket, and all other things are OUTDATED.
0a/Augs isn't outdated.

0 augs is always nice to play... But we can't appeal to new gamers with 10 year old, slow, confusing, difficult game types.

to be honest, this is whatever your editor allows. I've made a map covering most of the grid before, for a test.
The largest brushes I have used in hosted maps are probably in Nexus, asteroids around 12800 in size.

Joking about sclaw aside, the point about my suggestions is that 0-aug does lack choices atm. A lot is removed, such as augmentations, grenades and the maps tend to be one style only. Ideas like wep shops and repo men are just there to try to stimulate others into having similar ideas to rejuvenate 0-aug.

I am not saying replacing augs or 0a, I am saying add on to those assets.

Assets? Hah. Go and add to those assets.

It amazes me how many talented coders and mappers come up with a great idea, and then have absolutely no realistic foresight as to actually turn it into an appealing product.
The hero who was making DX3 Multiplayer should be the last to encourage here. Something to think about.

Well, the thing is, I Am not starting until someone else does, because I did not come up with the first thoguth that 0a needed work. Shad mentioned it, and I said if he started, Then I'd help. And also, the main reason why we come up with these Ideas and never make them happen, is because we are either busy with other mods, or never really getting around with making it.

Wut? DX3 multiplayer was my idea and Poor coded it. Funny you calling us heroes. Nothing heroic about that.

I'd rather kick around ideas that come to nothing than run off with someone else's idea and totally screw it up. No harm in discussing ideas.

The point I was trying to make wasn't really an idea, more of an observation, that 0-aug doesn't give much choice or scope for differing play and that it could include more features than it currently does, something a bit more like CS. It's totally weird to play single player and then join a 0-aug server with gas and emp jumpers. Just isn't a battle imo. When you play COD online, there is smoke and bangs and planting of C4 etc. This should be a minimum in 0-aug.

Leave 0 aug as it is, as it was meant to be, but sure we could use some new quality online mods. RPG will be covered this year and the next with Cozmo RPG v3, Hengsha City RPG, and then Undead Revolution and Face Town. We could use some more action orientated mods, look at the modes on UT for example, there's objective based action which is cool.

The best mod ever for DXMP would be a co-op campaign.

Speaking of action orientated mods, gonna have a quick ramble...

I've always toyed with the idea of an experimental ATDM2, which is basically ATDM with the charged pickups (if you've ever wondered what skill 5 does, it boosts their effectiveness) but nowhere near as overpowered as they currently are, where ballistic armour at level 3 + F6 is like 99% resistance. Found a doc in my DX folders that said they were intended for MP but they basically couldn't be bothered to balance them ... so they just left them out. o_O

I think it'd be pretty interesting - a new useful skill, losing a weapon slot to carry around a pickup and only using it when needed, starting with different augs and grabbing the armour instead of F6, you could even use it with targ in bursts. Would probably need a new weapon to warrant hazmat though, or make gas more deadly etc, little changes like that.
CDX - A huge Deus Ex Multiplayer patch
Cozmo_RPG (v1 & v2)
MPConversations - A great tool for creating co-op or rpg content. It will never be used.

Ideas are the best thing you can have, until you actually turn it into a great product, then it is the pinnacle of creation.

With the modders in this game that usually fails to some extent or other, and this statement is meant to be taken exactly as it reads.

Its also worth noting that most 0aug related ideas Shadowrunner is kicking around here I, as an observant and carefully conservative dx player, definitely agree with and have actually thought of same exact things.

Problem is that I have zero confidence in the project management and product finalizing skills of this community -- a result of having to witness so many good ideas left unfinished or turned to crap, or plenty crap ideas finished and.. occasionally hosted for 3-4 non-english speaking and-or illiterate 12yearolds.

DXAG is a gamemode waiting to become massive again imo. The newer players would love it, and it would "introduce" newer players to some augs.

It's a great mod but it needs a big update with smoother spawning, newer maps, and perhaps more balanced classes.

Agreed entirely there, Chin, but thats the case with most of the mods -- ie Alex' capture the bomb/juggernaut, etc etc. I personally believe DXAG had an idea, and even if it changed how DXMP was made, it was still an idea very much in the vein of Deus Ex.

Which -- I am sorry -- cannot be said about Tac, Bowen's, Alt-fire, SG. RPG is from what I can tell a niche mod and will never be as popular as any competitive game type, unless it provides enough action instead of playing sims.
