Sniper rifles are the most unfair weapon in the game, even the LAW is more balanced.

How? Snipers are employed by military's the world over. If it was unfair, it would be against the rules of war. What you've got to remember, is a lot of scampers(C)(TM) (my word, copyrighted and trademarked, so you can't steal :P), stay in the same spot (except the really good ones), so all you have to do is narrow them down, it's pretty obvious anyway, since you get shown your fragger. :D

I meant in the GAME, not in the war. I used to do I bit of rifle shooting myself at competition level. Also, people normally camp in places that give them a good view and protection. Have fun sniping through a wall...

I played this on DIOS today.
One thing I don't like about is the high amount of biocells and the VERY low amount of Medkits. (if there are any to pick up as I didn't find a single medkit) That should be fixed.

Depending on the map there are a different amount of cells and meds up for grabs. All in all you shouldn't need a medkit seeing that:

1: Everyone spawns with a medkit
2: There is/are medbots darted around the map
3: The Regeneration Augmentation heals 10 points per second and if you choose radar transparency over that then you deserve to die.
4: If you kill somebody quick enough or if somebody is a newb and doesn't med, then you just got another medkit. In BTDM you're more likely to get a medkit from a corpse than a lockpick...

1. This is not an augged map. An augged version might be interesting.

2. Gep in 0-aug is how 0-aug started, for the first four months heavies were in. I myself was introduced to 0-aug on Godzerver with lams and 20mm, I think sometimes it is fun and realistic to have heavy weapons in 0-aug. Augs is more interesting, but for maps like EnemyAtTheGates, they work best in realism mode, no low grav, no augs... definitely a 0-aug server with no "boom" sounds weird. I've noticed DXMP_CMD is removed from RTK maplist, can't even blow TNT anymore in 0-aug... a battle without "boom" sounds weird. People do throw bombs and rockets in war, I think it should be part of the game. Maybe there should be a RPG-7 and C4 mod...

3. We wont change this map, I just intend to recreate it, fixing the bugs, and maybe improving some questionable texturing, not much else.

1. Man I didn't know that!
2. Yea there are bots on CMD and Smuggler aswell, however medkits are a little bit more handy, even if the number of medbots are doubled or tripled. Because medbots have cooldowns, they might be hundreds of yards away from you thus not giving you enough time to get there and recover.
3. Yes it has to be used over radar on that map, we all know that aswell I guess. But that aug can NOT replace medkits because it's slow. Imagine you're being sprayed by plasma. You got your shield and regen but no meds. You lose your legs. What do you do? It's unlikely that you will dodge those plasma bolts when crippled. Because you have NO meds which heal 90 points when used thus you don't have the chance to jump away and attack back. Plasma makes more damage per second than regen aug heals. I think we can agree on that.
4. Considering the size of the map and the average number of players it's unlikely that you will pick up a lot of corpses before being shot by a cloaking camper from one of the roofs.


Don't try to prove me that medkits aren't that important as I say they are. Because they are important. Stop briefing me as if I was some kind of beginner because I'm not. I have a valid point and for some reason you want to prove me wrong while I'm not. Back off.
