Eh, Kill 'Em All's alright. It's certainly influential, but I think Mustaine did better with Killing is My Business. RTL is decent and probably their best release, but after that they really just lost sight of what they were doing. They started penning these 6+ minute long songs, but they were still rooted in the theory of thrash, so they became quite repetitive. They also started taking too much influence from the NWOBHM, so while they're contemporaries were getting more aggressive they were left in the dust with these meandering songs that weren't really fit with the style they were playing. It wasn't until albums like Voivod's Nothingface and Watchtower's Energetic Disassembly that progressive metal and thrash were fused properly.

Nu metal is too ingrained and intended to be closer to the surface of pop culture for me to get into. Thrash always had a feeling of underground artistry for me.

Dave Mustaine I always saw as an arrogant child, always popping off that he was the only talent in Metallica and forming Megadeath almost purely out of spite for them.

The band is good, but I don't respect Mustaine out of principle.

I had no Idea Mustaine was ever in Metallica, I just thought he was a friend of James or something like that. And Mustaines' style is nothing Like Metallica from any of their albums... In my opinion Metallica is a great band although Iv never considered them Thrash Metal but more like hard rock/Metal. They have good riffs and awesome solos.

Megadeth however is my favorite Thrash band, Mustaine is an awesome rhythm guitarist, In my opinion hes a little more creative with his riffs than most in Thrash Metal.

You must have only heard their recent stuff. Metallica from the 80's was thrash. They were considered pioneers of the genre like Motorhead.

Nah Iv heard it all, kill em all was the only album I ever considered Thrash, that and master of puppets the rest were much more hard rock than anything. and Idk what they were going for with St. Anger but it sounded like a bad mix of thrash and hardcore Metal.
