Installing mods/hacks for PHPBB always takes long a long time, even if you use AutoMod (which only works in 50% of all cases and still needs lot of mod configuration after the installation).
Many people have ADBlocker/JSBlocker/FlashBlocker plugins on which prevent the displaying of the Videos. Posting links is generally easier.
Also there is no stable plugin in the "released mods" section on PHPBB.com, yet.

I dont know about this.. you need to be a youtube hater if you havent allowed youtube in your flashblocker/ns settings
iirc noscript blocks by default but you can easily allow the site, while flashblocker simply allows you to block and doesnt block by default
Anyway links are good.
