I remember playing just about everything some 8-6 years ago, now I get bored of the random metabolic end product so fast that I dont really go out on my way to actually download or buy some game. Once or twice a year I do end up playing something good, though. Although generally years late (playing Fallout3 atm) I did manage to catch ME2 in time. I am sure most of us have noticed how we become quite.. demanding in what regards the content of the title wed enjoy.

Same goes for movies as well, really. I only watch random movies after dinner sometimes, which is also the only time I actually end up in front of the tv.

To be somewhat on topic: I have no preconceived hopes or thoughts about dx3 other than being somewhat curious about its release date. I could not force myself to play through dx2 (and if you have to force yourself you just know the game sucks for you) but I hope the new title will be more reasonable. This game may well end up as one of those games that bores me after 2 hours, but thatll depend on the story.
agreed.
I hope that DX3 will be great too, i buyed it already and everyone here have to do it too, cause we all want a DX 4, isnt it?
Well yeah, the most games i play are.. hm boring ore casual games.
DX2 sucks balls and i dont even finished the game, cause so many bugs and glitches.. god so bad.

Well most of the games are just for the dumbasses out there. Casual metabolic end product with no story ore shitty ones, and good titles (Like F.E.A.R. the first game, Bioshock and so on) are going the casual way too, not too much but you can feel the casual way :?

Bioshock had great skill system thing and great atmosphere, but the story (which pretty much motivates you to go out there and explore other than just getting more ammo and grenades and whatnot) was so *loving* boring and linear that I stopped playing it after day or two. A friend of mine who always criticizes games did enjoy it, though, so I suppose its only subjective.

Next Fallout is out next month :D

Eidos were looking about a month ago for betatesters at Montreal office, so I imagine the game is quite advanced. The lucky bastards were being paid expense fees too and hanging out in the Montreal office.

I think I am the same, I will buy DX3 but without mapping or mp, will most likely carry on with half-life, dxmp.
There seem to be some awesome games coming out this year, so it's a good point, I wonder out of 20-30 games how many will still be interesting after 2 hours or 2 days...

DX3 doesnt have a MP part, sadly.
But i hope the STory is awsome and it gives a DX1 feeling.

Yep, from 40~ games they come out, maybe 10 are interesting and 2~3 are good at all and rarely a realy good game, that you can play more than 2 Days.
For example Grand Theft Auto 4 was exelent (exept the Hardware problems i had), Just Cause 2 was fun, Prototype was fun too, Split Second is a great game (but getting boring fast, but burns for more than 2 days xD).
Some are older, some newer, doesn matter its all the same, 90% are too casual and are boring as hell.

btw, Montereal working on a DLC for DX3 already, they say they add some stuff but doesnt cut the stuff out of the main game. But i think they do, and hope for them they cut some stuff out nobody need.
When they cut some sidequests, informations about the city, details and charakter that tells you some storys, oh god i will crack it in.. i dont pay for stuff, that have to be in the maingame...

YES I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE

They said that it wouldn't come with multiplayer, but they don't deny any patches or so.

How does it work? I design a game and can decide later if MP or not? Don't I have to make the SP game itself in a certain way first, to be converted later? And I wondered, how would they keep that development quiet, since at least a few dxmp players are involved at the Eidos offices, betatesting and other stuff. But yep, would be a great thing DX3MP. Fun to find all the bugs...

I think its logical to assume that they figure out if itll have MP or not from very early on, for most games. It is rare for a story-driven game such as DX to have a multiplayer because it makes sense not to make one and the only real option, that usually proves to be too costly to add into a title that can also end up being a bust, is to create a working co-op.

I do firmly believe, however, that this entire augmentation/skills jazz in the form introduced in DX1 would make a fantastic MP. Creating a functional shooter MP however is a big task. This is why I keep saying that DXMP sucks big time: the maps are miniature and there is only a few of the basic ones, original release was unprotected/bugged/with metabolic end product net code, primitive gametype selection.

With this said.. Id be forever happy if theyd release even that much for DX3.

I'm like Krisz, 1-2 hours now, unless it's something new and absorbing.

So Eidos don't have much reason to make MP version... except us lol...

The trailer made me want to play more than the "gameplay" video...
