Catch up dude. We're watching day 7 here. :P 8)

Second season was probably the best season. Although, I haven't watched since the 4th season.

The only season I haven't seen of 24 is the 7th (newest) season

2nd seasonis good, but Kim is *loving* up the action, slowing everything down.

Also, torture scenes from the first episode (SE2) are quite creepy. One of the few moments that actually got me scared in all those movies and TV shows that I've seen.

Um, yeah, I've read about Gulags a lot, check out Herlig-Grudzinski's "Another World" ("Inny Świat"), very good book. The author himself was in one of those Russian workcamps, and he described it. Worth reading.

Same kind of book is: One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, written by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
It too, is worth reading.
