I think AugMod was a great idea and a decent mod but for some reason it never took off, I hosted it a few years ago but it didn't get popular.
I can't be sure but I don't think DXAG would be all that great, a beginner server like some people were working on (with in-game instructions and stuff) would be better.

DXAG will take time anyway and there are a number of options to choose from, it's more of a co-op thing too.
RE: Beginner's infolink. Adding triggers to a map takes 2 seconds, but having someone else prepare the guides/instructions will speed things up. Also maybe the same text should be in a mutator too, for when maps can't be edited. Any player at all can get involved in this side of things, perhaps better anyway if they are written by experienced players.

Is it possible to make it trigger only for the noobs so it doesnt annoy experts?

I wonder why after so many years there isnt a mod like this. Its an excellent idea. In my opinion it could looks like this:
- ballistic armour wouldnt be overpowered if can be use only for short period of time,so it can be usefull only during fights, for example:
skill level 1 - 5 seconds
skill level 2 - 10 seconds
skill level 3 - 15 seconds
or change that ballistic protection would automatically turn off when ballistic armour is running
- hazmat suit would be usefull by making gas grenades more deadly or adding some gas zones at the maps where players can find some extra stuff. Also using hazmat suit + enviromental resistance (100 % of protection) would make them almost unbeatable in fights at these areas. The duration of action could be 15,30,60 seconds.
- thermoptic camo can be used at the same way as cloak (using with vision aug for quick and deadly attacks against cloaked players) - it can be used for 15,30,60 seconds or ...
I've noticed that using thermoptic camo in multiplayer I'm still invisible having a weapon in hands, its should be changed or maybe use, for example: I have cloak turned on, then turn on thermoptic camo and attack the enemy while I'm still invisible - in that way of using duration of action should be really short: 5,10,15 seconds.
The way of Using thermoptic came can be also changed by turning off and blocking vision aug while its running.
Anyone would like to play?

Not without some help in the form of a mutator I am guessing. Maybe there is beginners server, but also there could be training server, where experienced players wouldn't want to go anyway. Like "training" in SP.
I like the atdm2 idea. Also it does surprise me also there has only been 1 complete set of augs in 10 years. Also I noticed that Human Revolution changes augs almost exactly in the way that augs were complained about in DXMP 2001. (i.e. cloak is much more energy-consumptive.)
Since I haven't seen Poor mention it in public, I can't say but the "co-op constant battle" aspect is being looked at, that is all I can say.

I like the way you think Khaam

slight gas zones are probably the way to go to make hazmat useful, a free med/biocell or even ballistic in there like the middle of Smuggler would make it a choke point too.
Currently, gas grenade clouds seem to be locked at 1 damage per second, which is fair for 0A but pretty useless when everyone has speed. Could increase this slightly or scale based on demolitions skill? Maybe even make power recirc more desirable.

We could make it rely on the help messages option in the player setup menu, only problem being that people who turn it off won't see "You hit your teammate!" etc if they want it on for that

I find you to be an absolutely obnoxious player recent years, but this very idea I've been thinking of for a while as well, and you are offering some *very* good suggestions.

well the fact that no mapper can actually make great aug maps makes the whole armor/suit argument irrelevant, since none of the default maps have any.
i dont see the point of changing/increasing the energy draining rate of augs, it just makes it more like non-aug which is kind of against the point. Most people have trouble conserving energy as it is.
I wouldn't go down the 'changing weapon damage' route either because the "balancing" is just too subjective, and as youknowwho tried before he disappeared, there's a good chance you'll *love* it up even worse. Some things can't be "balanced" (whatever that means), you're better off leaving it as it is.

He offers good suggestions in this thread, but in game server I think he is too used to owning noobs in Urban Terror that he has to constantly call me aimbot or comment on my fire. Same metabolic end product from year to year.

I remember only one situation few years ago that I was insulting You, but never called You a cheater and exept this one situation I dont remember this whining thing. Yesterday I wrote You taht for me its incredible to kill like that but You misunderstood me, that was not accusing You of cheating, I just only asked "how?", and now I know how. Becasue I always thought the only needed thing is good aim, but today at DX required is not only to aim but also do something like crouch-spray-couch-spray.
And do not flatter yourself, I never called You aimbot or something like this. If I was kind of "whining" type Your approach to me would be completely different. Why You are so frustrated? You come on this forum and cry because of me. Isnt better solution to ignore someone like me if Im that bad? I would do that.
I ignore Psycho who is still accusing me of fps abuse although there are a lot of better players than me.
All and sundry I would like to announce I have 125 fps max, so please "odpieprzcie sie" I mean leave me alone.
