WTF you talking about Kuch? It (was) a live event. And they pwned the arena. 8) Epicly awesome stuff. Never mind your YouTube clips, or your live DVD's, nothing compares with being there. 8)

I didn't find them to be that special when I saw them a few years back. In fact I'd be willing to say that it was the least memorable show I've ever been to.

You must've been at a crap venue mate, whole place was packed out. Maybe 20,000 people there. I counted at least two mosh pits. 8)

k im a latecomer to the topic but er, i've seen dragonforce live back in 2006, they sounded pretty awesome.
I know they dont play well live, but its very hard to notice because their music is loud and the guitarists hide behind the keyboard guy and drummer.
There are far more unheard of bands in the same genre as Dragonforce, their guitarists play stuff way above their live-capabilities, their cd's own, their performances dont (but do).
As for Metallica, im going to see them in 26 days, they are my alltime favourite band and i cannot wait yayayayyaya!
There are better thrash bands though, like Exhorder, Evile, Slayer etc.
Im not a fan of Metallica for their thrash, im a fan of them because i think their music (whatever the style) is breathtaking.

Huge venues blow. The best shows I've been to have been at a small club that holds about 500 people and has no air conditioning. Every time I've been there I've always ended up right against the stage. Then occasionally I'll hang with the bands afterwards. There's nothing personal about being in the nose bleed seats at a jam packed stadium. Maybe if it was for something like Wacken or one of those crazy Maiden concerts down in South America, but in most cases you pay a fortune for tickets and end up getting a mediocre performance.

I hate shows that are in stadiums, they are good if you just like to listen to the music casually. I like big outdoor shows and in a big empty room with nothing but a stage (no air conditioning its much better without)

Well the way the M.E.N gig was structured, the stage was in the centre, meaning you were pretty close to the band anyway. We were less than halfway up the block, which meant a really good view of the band. I think the air-con was busted tho. Might have been the pyros. Could be wrong tho.

i agree, i much prefer small venues, 99.9% of my gigs are at the Birmingham Academy (used to be Carling, now 02) - nice venue, not too big, not too small.
