TWO German air force sergeants are facing courts martial after drawing their own blood to make traditional sausage.
The two men, based at a fighter squadron base near Munich, were photographed siphoning off their blood to mix with onions, bacon, spices and breadcrumbs according to the recipe of a grandmother of one of them.

Actually, Germans DO have an army. It's called Bundeswehr I think, too lazy to search.

Yes, they have a limited army for defence of their country only. At least, that's what I heard........

I think you have data back from the 50s.
since Germany joined NATO and European Union, they are not limited anymoar.

The german army aka. "Bundeswehr" is limited. It has been limited even more in 2004 or 2005... idk.
Now, they'll just take the best people. The other ones get T5, *love* off

Well.. from a certain age, they contact you automatically and a capability check with you.
After that check, you're either invalided out, or not.
In case you are not, you either go to army for 9 months, or you make a request of conscientious objection. In case that one gets accepted, you do civilian service.
