Death is a process.
Being dead requires ones life to cease, via travelling through the process of death.
It is entirely debatable at what stage during the process of death a person can be considered dead, but once the process is over the person is surely dead.

I'd class death as a complete lack of brain function, personally... BUT THAT WOULD MEAN DJ IS DEAD AMIRITE?
