and yes they abuse admin, dont bother with these clowns, did you know the guy who rented this server uses a bot? you get banned for following him around (in spec mode), as well as killing him.

He won't have much fun if he bans everyone.
Without auditory his actions have no effect.

Next six months or more, I expect to see a lot of badly run servers and probably some bad behaviour/reaction from experienced players.

FGS ban list was very very small in those days... and server never was down, except we needed Alex and Nobody to get the command line going, but I blame it on SG mod thingymajiggy and GD's command line, but then with GD, waiting a month to see your server, that is nothing unusual is it.

I still dream of democracy in DX, Hasharin is president of DX with his DXCouncil, naughty on one server means banned on most others, if you have been persistently naughty he puts you on the list. Some supermod which Noodz made, then only shows you unofficial servers. Immediately ends molestation of servers and new mods by other players/clans. The only thing is about IP addresses being passed from one forum or server to another, I don't know if it is legal. Doubt we will ever see it, but it's a lovely idea.

No someone else can be king, sounds very boring, I just want to lock up the little buggers and get some peace and quiet.

Just I remember that it was a big problem in 2007, with language issues being worse than usual too, it was an idea discussed, because it was noticed that clans were sending players to other servers to cause trouble. Also people's behaviour seemed to depend entirely on whether they were a fan of that gametype or not. These days it's matured somewhat. Since people could alias and be a respected pro on one server and a complete penis on someone else's, it was discussed between FGS, RTK and EDH I believe. People were sick of the dishonesty etc.

I seem to recall you saying you wouldn't ban anyone unless they did something directly on your server, regardless of attacking others etc, so this seems odd.

If you are referring to HDD. That is entirely because Alex refused to make a post that was requested by German speaking members. As a result of insulting the new leaders, administrating the server without respecting the clan rules, yes we approached Icho and discussed the situation based on the info given. Alex hadn't given any, only ranted in server. The fact that HDD lied and Alex refused to post or talk calmly to us was not our fault. The system would have banned HDD out of DX, but you guys didn't want to stoop below your lofty perch and work with "noobs" according to you. For noobs, we did a pretty good job of running FGS. And why the *love* would you bring up all this metabolic end product when really none of us can be bothered?

I seem to remember Icho didn't actually make a decision, it was more of a conclusion based on our FGS motto.

I'm not suggesting I run it, or decide how it works. But one thing is for sure. MAD. Mutually Assured Destruction.

It works. It would stop any clan messing with any clan, could be a solution to other problems as well, to have "official" servers and "unofficial" servers. I'm just throwing ideas around, because actually that would heavily penalize new servers and destroy creativity or innovation.

Anyone in charge would just be considered a dictator though, then you'd get "the truth about <X person>" threads, they're fun. And I wouldn't want to see it in the hands of someone relatable to Deja - EDH - for sure. (Of course the idea in general is just speculation but yeah)

It was mostly about HDD, although in the long run I'm guessing he was banned anyway so it doesn't really matter.
