If you're single the gym is a great place to meet women VS leave women alone!

Which is it? (answers from women welcome) I hope this doesn't come across as an incel post or a rant. I'm mainly confused asking for clarification (especially from women). The advice I keep hearing is that if you're single, do more things, like hike, volunteer, or go to the gym. But then I happen to see a TikTok video of a woman who was in a gym and approached by a guy (I can't link to it here, but you do an internet search I'm sure you could find it). For those who have not seen it. Basically a young woman (19) is in the gym, recording a workout video (I think?). A guy approaches and tries to engage in conversation. She tries to give off clues that she doesn't want to engage and says, I'm too young," and he replies, "I'm too rich." And the general vibes from comments (on other sources--I don't have TikTok) is that the guy was wrong in even talking to her (notice the "LEAVE WOMEN ALONE" caption in the girl's video). From what I can tell he was pretty rude about his approach. (1) her attention was elsewhere, (2) he asked her to remove her earbuds, (3) he didn't take a hint that she didn't want to be talked to (usually for me it's usually because I sometimes don't pick up vital social cues, but it seemed like for him he thought it was a "try harder" signal). And, obviously, (4) he was rude when she declined. Or should one never approach? Is a gym one of those places where you never approach someone? Пост в архиве.
