Here are some great options on Long Island, Great Neck, and surrounding areas. Great Neck is my hometown and will always have my heart. There are a few family-friendly activities to do here, with a huge plus that you have quite a few kosher food options to choose from, so you don’t have to worry about bringing food along (the restaurant stop is part of the day’s fun. You can either go out to eat, or even just go for an ice cream or coffee). – This is an amazing Ice Rink, named after one of Great Neck’s very own brave volunteer firefighters, who lost his life helping on 9/11. It was also home to 2001 World bronze medalist in ladies’ singles and the 2002 Olympic Champion, Sarah Hughes. Be sure to check the website for the schedule for public sessions. Garden City: Garden City is about 20 minutes from Great Neck with so many fun family-friendly options. You don’t have the access to the surrounding kosher restaurants like in Great Neck, but these still make for some great daytime activities. Plainview/Syosset: Both areas are about 20 minutes away from the Mall area, and about 12 minutes away from each other. You have one option for only younger kids, and another option which is inclusive for more ages. If you don’t want to worry about food either, you can either go to, or order from Hunki’s Kosher Pizza , in Plainview, to both locations.. – If you’re looking to entertain mostly younger children (under eight) in a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, this is a great choice. Located in Plainview, this place offers “an ideal play space for children under eight… the largest imaginative indoor playground around! There is so much to do in our 8,200 square foot facility — play in our city, take an educational and Fun Parent & Me class, participate in a themed event, shop in our awesome toy boutique, etc.” Be sure to check the schedule for open play times on the website. Rivka Soleimani Bitton is a Great Neck native and a stay at home mom to her three children. FOR EXCLUSIVE CONTENT AND A PEEK BEHIND THE SCENES, MAKE SURE TO JOIN OUR WHATSAPP STATUS HERE.
