Enemy At The Gates

Enemy at the gates loads ok on Void/Mantra Server. I am wondering if we can ask him to rename it EnemyAtTheGatesAltfire and upload it here, so we have a different version to try for successful hosting. There is a bug where players can get stuck and some texturing could be improved and there could be greater detail in the ramps/stairs, could be a rusty elevator in one place of repeating the same ramp in every building etc, and insides of buildings especially, so if not hostable, we could have a enemyatthegates2 contest... who can make the best enemyatthegates2 then host a server with all of them, 24/7 enemyatthegates lol... this map totally rocks in 0-aug too btw...

Not at all, it can be dodged. I've done it loads of times in aug servers when I've not turned my ADS on for whatever reason. If you don't dodge it, you've only got yourself to blame....

You see, this is what I mean about augs being fairer than 0 augs. Every weapon has an aug to either enhance it or protect against it. Normally they are counter augs.

Ballistic Protection helps prevent damage from bullets whilst targetting increases it.

ADS stops geps and Spy Drone helps kill the bio so they can't use ADS.

I've never used the drone, always too slow in SP, and I've no reason to suspect otherwise in MP. Playing with augs just makes things a bit easier for you is all, nothing more nothing less. You want adrenaline? Try dodging across 300m of open ground to dubious cover, while someone with a Shock Rifle or Pulse Gun is plastering the immediate area with so much heat, you can only go in straight lines. Then when you get there (if you get there), you've then got to worry about vac nades, lams, and in some maps, nukes. Also, his teammates backing him up with Rippers, Autoshotguns, Vac Rifles, etc. Not to mention turrets spraying hot lead spit at you. That is the pinnacle of AltFire. Fast paced fighting. 0-Aug no different, just harder, 'cause there are a lot of vets nowadays, plus it seems harder for them to miss in 0-Aug, yet in AltFire, virtually no-one except Fear, Prophet, and a few [FGS] vets can hit anything smaller than a barn door at 5 paces. :D And at least we don't TK, SK, or SpawnLam. Unlike the not too few ATDM players I've seen. ;-) Anyway, I've got yet another MS topic to make. C'ya!

Try dodging accross 300m of open ground with snipers, geppers, tankers, cloakers and knifers running at you. That's REAL fun.

A tanker is somebody who runs around with a rifle getting upclose and personal with alot of protective augs, worst of all is a speed tanker, which is the exact same only with speed, and then after that the alleged "elite style" of Speed Vision Tanking, nothing can *loving* stop you then.

A fair fight is close combat. Every single weapon is effective in close combat. A long distance camperfight is far from fair.

But authentic. You think the troops in Afghan and Iraq can see the Taliban/Resistance when the lead rain comes down? A bit like comparing David to Goliath, but the principle's the same....
