Re: 2MB Mapping Challenge - Kalman
2mb limit map is a big challenge I'm surprised the Terrain, Water and actors added didn't knock at least 1 ish mb alone not to mention all the goodies to be added! I'm no mapping expert...by a long long shot! I'm curious about the outcome of this map and all 2mb maps to follow in this challenge. Nice work Kalman

I like challenges
Skybox is completed anyway, and I have to add only the lantern into the lighthouse
Four buildings are bigger challenge, if I count it well, I can't go over 4000 nodes

Re: 2MB Mapping Challenge - Kalman
Reduced the filesize to 458 KB with some rebuilds, added base of oilroom and skybox
Re: 2MB Mapping Challenge - Kalman
Kalman how on earth did you make that island terrain?
Only way I can imagine doing it is loads of FloorLofts?

Re: 2MB Mapping Challenge - Kalman
I think he used UED 2 Terrain option. If not that in UED 1 hold alt + drag point but I doubt he did that!

Re: 2MB Mapping Challenge - Kalman
I got some extensions for UED2 like Tarquin's Brush Builders etc., and I used BSP Based Terrain (idk which one includes it)

It could be done with Floor Lofters, mind... just a lot more effort.

Good to see you Magus, I'm sure the mappers will really appreciate it.
I'm impressed so far with this map, the only issue on my mind is the playability, because it's fairly unusual, I can't predict the likely outcome, so I'm excited to see the result.

Made some progress today
Added generator building and oil supply building Not so detailed now, but it's still below 700KB

Re: 2MB Mapping Challenge - Kalman
Still below 700KB's is good, I think some people are underestimating what can be done in 2 MBs. Hopefully this challenge will raise some eyebrows!
