Deticated Server Problem

Hello, I have a friend who is lending me the use of his dedicated server for free. However the problem is that I can't see to get it to work properly. I can host the server and join but I can't pick up any guns, equip anything, see any guns, and just move around slowly. I've tried with and without nephthys and dxmtl152b1. Ping reads 0 from in the server. From outside the server it reads in the thousands sometime. It can't be his deti's fault because there have been other games which ran on there just fine. Have tried changing server prioritization and affinity but it hasn't seemed to work. Nephthys shows RQA attacks.

Removed mapvote from the server starter batch file and it got the weapons to show, and beable to fire but the ping still seems way too high even though it reads 150 from the server, 250 from the server list. Warps every 3 seconds. All the other servers he has work fine... Firewall offline.

is your mutator ini and dxmtl ini all ticketyboo? Sometimes I check my ini and 2/3rds are missing.

Okay so I replaced my dxmtl and deus ex ini with my own personal one and it seemed to fix part of the problem, also installed anna101... But the problem still persists for me atleast, can you join Sev's server (testing) and see if the problems persist for you

Yes there is some problem, but only on your server.

It also says my ping is 20. GD is in Stroud and I am in Bristol. My ping to GD is around 35. Clearly something is not right with your server.

It seems like massive lag, as if I have more than 1000 ping, more like 5000-10,000

Netspeed is 20000, netstat command does not show deus ex listed in there? Also there are dual connections, one which has internet access and one that doesn't

When you go on there it is LIKE how FGS Altfire or other servers used to be sometimes, but the movement there was more jerky, wobbly, where here it is more like massive lag, but the effect is similar, moving very slowly.

That problem occurs if the client wasn't initialized properly so it can't get in sync with the server.
Symptoms are weird crouchy movement, a zero ping and the unability to pick up items.

What do you suppose could fix this?

Bumping this as we can get a free server or two easily.
